They are about whether this is a sensible thing to do at all. Below are short answers.

Two reasons, usually. The first is cost: a full facelift in Seoul, with the aftercare included, costs a fraction of the same operation in New York, Sydney or London. The second is experience. Facial surgery is common here, so a surgeon in Gangnam sees in a year what a surgeon elsewhere might see in several. That matters for a facelift more than for most procedures, because the deep plane technique has a long learning curve and the results depend on who is holding the instruments.
What Korea does not guarantee is that every clinic is the same. Some do facelifts between rhinoplasties and eyelid surgeries. We only do facelifts. Dr. Shin operates on one patient a day and does the consultation, the surgery and every check-up himself.
You do not have to know this before you contact us, but it helps to see where you might fit.

We do not publish a price list, because no two faces need the same operation. After Dr. Shin reviews your photos you receive one figure in writing, and it covers everything from the first consultation to the last stitch removal and the ten days of aftercare. There is no separate anesthesia bill and no hospital bill, because you go home the same day. Ten days for a full facelift. Stitches come out on Day 7 and Day 10, and Dr. Shin wants to see you once more before you fly. People sometimes ask whether a week would do, and the honest answer is that it would, but you would be removing your own stitches in a hotel bathroom. The swelling peaks around Day 2 and 3, and that is the point when most patients wonder what they have done. By the time the second set of stitches comes out you look like yourself again, tired perhaps, but presentable. Most people are back at work, in person, three weeks after surgery. The fine tightening around the ears and jawline keeps settling for a few months, which is why we ask for photos at one, three and six months.
